Gratitude is the very first step to happiness and achieving your dream!
Have you ever heard of someone achieving their dream and living a life of happiness and being ungrateful? Of course not! Because they know that to be successful and happy you have to be grateful. So many people think if they achieve all their goals and dreams then they can/will be grateful and happy – but the key is to be grateful and happy first, then the success and happiness will come.
You may be thinking – ‘but I don’t have anything to be grateful for….’
You have so much to be grateful for. You may just have to stop and think about it for a moment. Firstly – You are breathing! Secondly – You have your mind! and Thirdly – You have infinite potential. All of which mean that anything is possible at any given moment.
To start changing your happiness levels so you can reach your dreams start a gratitude journal. If you have a note book you can use that but othewise start it on a piece of paper. Before you go to be tonight list 10 things you are grateful for. If this seems difficult start with what may appear to you to be very basic things – breathing, clean water, food availability, eye sight, hearing etc. Then each morning when you wake up and each night just before going to sleep add an additional two things to your list (it is ok to repeat yourself).
And one final tip – always keep it in the positive e.g. I am so happy and thankful I have great health or I am so happy and thankful I always have clean water available to me.
