Tomorrow morning I am getting up early and heading to the airport to fly to LA. I am so excited by this trip I don’t know how I am possibly going to sleep tonight. It is also now 11pm and I haven’t started packing yet because I am trying to get a few extra things done before I go. I am also not sure what to pack because the weather is going to be something I have never experienced before – super cold. I am a thong wearing girl whenever I can, however, I do have my fingers crossed I will get to see snow for the first time in Tennessee.
I am very excited about this trip for several reasons…
Firstly I am excited because I am going to be connecting with Soles4Souls in Nashville Tennessee. Soles4Souls are a global charity based in the USA who I have been working closely with for several months. Mid-way through last year I contacted Soles4Souls as I was interested in running a shoe drive in Adelaide, Australia for the people in Africa living without shoes. Just a few short months later The Butterfly Movement, which is the organisation I established in late 2010, was set-up as the Australian partner to Soles4Souls. We ran our inaugural shoe drive in late 2011 and collected more than 54,000 pairs of new and gently worn shoes for the people of Africa – which included shoes sent from all states and territories in Australia. The whole experience and response to the shoe drive was overwhelming in a wonderful way.
The past 8 months since the initial contact with Soles4Souls has been an incredible journey for me personally and also for The Butterfly Movement. I can’t wait to share more with you on the progress of The Butterfly Movement soon as we move forward and help more people in need.
I am also really looking forward to this trip because I am spending a few days in LA and going to a 2-day event. I am sure by now you have heard about the course I did last year called Making a Million Look Small which is all about personal development and changing your perspective. I love personal development and constantly working towards being your very best!
The course was excellent and one which I highly recommend. It also culminates in a 2-day weekend event in LA which is where I will get to meet the four teachers – Bob Proctor, Mary Morrissey, Gay Hendricks and Peggy McColl – in addition to the other participants.
The energy is going to be high and I can’t wait!
This trip is all about me living my dream, however, I am going to miss my sister Corrine who is staying home to manage her boutique store Levant and run a launch event she has planned. Corrine and I went through the whole program together so it is going to be sad to be there without her this time.
USA here I come.
p.s. I would love to hear from you – What is your dream?
